Stratos Boats unveils

Stratos Boats recently announced the new 2X Double Your Winnings contingency program.  Designed to reward Stratos owners with serious cash, the program will run from April 15 to December 31, 2008 and will double first-place tournament winnings from any qualified tournament, up to $10,000.

Schedule and Tournament Results

The Mid States Tournament Association (MSTA) is a unique tournament circuit combining features of both pro-am and  buddy tournaments. Boater and non-boaters are paired prior to each tournament, but combine their weight for the day. This year the boater and non-boater Championship winners will walk away with new Stratos boats, powered by Evinrude Motors, professionally rigged by Smithville Marine.

Lefty cashes in big with Incentive Money

Talk about timing, Keith just purchased his new Skeeter boat from Smithville Marine the week prior to this event and cashed in on $500 from Smithville Marine for purchasing his boat there and another $2,000 in Skeeter “reel Money” which more than doubled his regular earnings for the day.  Keith walked away with a total of $4,500 on the day, all for a $145 entry fee.  Brian took home $625 on the non-boater side for first place.  Complete Details.

Stout and Rush Sack Huge Limit For 27 April Win

Jeff Stout and Dennis Rush took home 1st place checks with 23.56 lbs of fish.  Included in their bag was three “triplets”, three fish that were well over 6 lbs. each, along with two smaller keepers.  Complete Details.

Smithville Marine Pro-Staff Takes 1st on Truman Lake

Darrell Reach, Smithville Marine Pro-staff and Skeeter owner took first place on April 19 at the Bass World Sports Tournament Association tournament at Osage Bluff Marina.  Darrell qualified to win an additional $3000 through Skeeter's Reel Money program.

20 April (Sunday):  Hockensmith and Payne first of 63 teams

Burtons bait and tackle held their second weekend tournament of the 2008 season out of Little Platte boat ramp at Smithville Lake Sunday, April 20, 2008.  This event had one of the largest fields Burtons tournaments have seen in a while with 63 teams signed up to fish for the day. Taking first place today went to the team of Deon Hockensmith and Mike Payne with a five fish limit that weighed 15 lbs even.  [Complete Details]

17 April (Thursday):  Alsop & Leftridge Cash In Big

Taking first place was the team of Tom Alsop and Keith Leftridge with 4 fish that weighed 9 lbs. 10 ounces.  This team took home $235.00 for first place, $250.00 from Smithville Marine for fishing from a “Smithville Marine” boat and an additional $2000.00 from Skeeter boats since they were in Keith’s new Skeeter boat that he purchased from Smithville Marine.  All said and done this team walked away with $2485.00, not bad for a 2-½ hour, $40.00 entry fee tournament!  [Complete Details]

30 March:  Alsop and Leftridge take the win on extremely tough day

Burtons Bait and Tackle tournaments kicked off their season Sunday, March 30th out of Little Platte Marina at Smithville Lake.  Tom Alsop and Keith Leftridge brought in only two fish on the day but with a weight of 8 lbs. 4 ounces, it was all that was needed to take home the victory.  This team cashed in with $750.00 for the win, $300.00 for the Calcutta winner take all side pot and another $500.00 from Smithville Marine, just for running a “Smithville Marine” boat.  [Complete Details and Pictures]
